Barça Set to Play Inaugural Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend
Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome the Basque side in La Liga 30 months after they moved out to allow renovations to start.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. When completed, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed finished work included an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.
Recent Activities
The club conducted an open training session inside the stadium in early November. They mentioned they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body to play their next home Champions League game facing Eintracht next month at the stadium. Previous fixtures took place in the temporary ground.
