The "Taken" star has provided his vocal talents to a recent film that casts doubt on the safety of vaccinations and praises ex- government figure RFK Jr.
The Documentary's Provocative Foundation
Called "Plague of Corruption," the project is adapted from a bestselling book published by Judy Mikovits, who became famous during the pandemic for assertions that Covid was a result of a bad strain of the flu vaccine.
Her writing partner, a producer, has previously authored books with conspiracy-prone media personality a known commentator. The producer took to social media hailing Neeson's participation in the film.
A Firm Rebuttal
The team of the actor have released a comment strongly denying claims that he holds anti-immunization beliefs.
"Everyone can understand that unethical practices may occur within the drug industry, but that should never be confused with being against vaccines," the response explains. "Neeson never has been, and cannot be described as, anti-vaccination. His long work with the UN children's agency highlights his enduring support for public-health initiatives."
The statement continued that the actor did not shape the documentary's narrative and that concerns about its assertions should be directed to the creators.
Central Themes In the Film
In the film, the script spoken by Neeson features several provocative statements:
- It claims that pro-vaccine voices have called for "blind obedience" to public institutions.
- It declares that "science has become dangerously politicised."
- Robert F Kennedy Jr is shown saying, "The major issue with vaccines is that they simply are not safely tested."
- The narration further attacks pandemic restrictions, arguing they caused psychological harm that resulted in thousands of lives.
- Concerning the immunizations, it cites a view that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "hazardous tests."
Historical Context and Recent Disputes
The documentary further cites a past television report about clinical trials on children, which was later the focus of a correction by the network for unbalanced reporting.
Last month, the political figure directed the CDC to alter its long-held position that there is no causal relationship between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This assertion is echoed in the film, despite a recent study from the global health body stating no connection has been found.
A Previous Position of Advocacy
Standing in contrast to the documentary's tone, Neeson has previously shown firm endorsement for vaccines in his capacity as a Unicef global ambassador.
In 2022, he called vaccines as "a remarkable achievement," noting that "The discourse about vaccines in lately has forgotten how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in history."
The documentary concludes with Neeson's script stating, "This isn't the finish of our narrative. This is the dawn of a new chapter."
